4.2 Keywords
Using Keywords in Your DAM
Keywords are a powerful tool for searching and filtering materials within your DAM. When you start typing a keyword in the product card’s Keyword field, the available keywords are automatically suggested for selection.
Managing Keywords
In the Keywords section of your DAM, you can add, edit, or delete keywords as needed. Any keywords added to product cards by users will also appear on the Settings > Keywords page for centralized management.
Adding Keywords to Metadata Fields
If you have created a metadata field of type Keyword, you can assign predefined keyword options to it. These fields and their associated keywords are displayed on the Settings > Keywords page. To add new keywords, click Add New Keyword under the relevant keyword group. You can also create keywords with language-specific variations for multi-language support.
How to Use Keywords
Keywords enhance asset organization and discovery in several ways:

Use the Keywords field to apply predefined keywords to your assets. You can also add unique, asset-specific keywords if necessary.

Keywords can be grouped for specific purposes. For example:
- Themes or Campaigns – e.g., Summer 2025, Back to School, Holiday Collection
- Content Type – e.g., Product Photo, Lifestyle Image, Infographic, Video
- Usage Rights – e.g., Royalty-Free, Editorial Use Only, Internal Use
- Departments or Teams – e.g., Marketing, Sales, Product Development
- Language or Region – e.g., EN, FI, SE, Nordics, DACH
- Status or Workflow – e.g., Approved, In Review, Archive, Needs Editing
By effectively using keywords, you streamline searchability and maintain consistency in asset classification.
